OUR APPROACH

Anuenue Tree is a space of love that cultivates elemental nature based experiences to serve growth and authentic expressions for the keiki (children) of Kauai.  At Anuenue Tree, keiki and adults are encouraged to express their authentic selves, planting their seeds of creation into the soil and into the community.  The space serves as a safe container for healthy play, a space to foster relationships with themselves, and a space to walk together on a journey of creation.

Serving as a space of love, Anuenue Tree calls upon members of the community to share their gifts with the keiki to create rich and culturally diverse learning experiences.  Through the passion of sharing and doing what one loves, the keiki will learn from a diverse array of arts, music, song and dance, games, natural crafts, practical skills, and horticultural practices; based on the teachings of: Waldorf, 8 Shields Coyote Mentoring, and more.  Gathering in circle and the sharing of intentional stories and meditational practices will be incorporated into the daily experience, creating openness for the keiki to tap into the true expressions of greatest self. Play in nature is at the heart of Anuenue Tree’s curriculum, but early literacy, math, science, arts, social emotional learning, and physical development are all addressed in an integrated and authentic way through experiences in nature.

At Anuenue Tree, the Keiki are co-creators of their learning, alongside the live educational practices of their mentors.  Through the freedom and beauty that the present moment offers us, combined with the power of awareness, the children and the mentors discover what excites the essence of their beings; sparking curiosity and wonder, they connect to themselves, to one another, and to the world around them.
